At the bottom or footer on each joomla template that we use (in this case Joomlart template) have the sentence/phrase "designed by ... (blah blah blah)". Because of one or more of the reasons we want to change or delete the phrase (do not change the original designer name with our name, it violates the Intellectual Property Rights). (Any tips n triks?)
This is just sharing all the things i know, please don't use this if you don't "purchase Copyright Removal feature", related to this (from the joomlart terms of use):
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
You can edit or remove our copyright information at your discretion under JA Developer membership.
For JATC Standard membership, you can remove JA copyright information with condition that you purchase Copyright Removal feature which is separated from your JATC Standard membership fee. With this package you can remove our footer "Designed by JoomlArt.com" and changed it to "Designed/Powered by YourCompany" as well as other reference to JoomlArt.com.
Please note that, copyright removal is not applied to JAEC membership.

By default joomla has a module called footer. And we think we can find it there to edit it.
Unfortunately, even we try to find it line by line, we will not find the phrase "designed by Joomlart.com". We will only find the phrase "joomla! Is a freeware ...".
So where is the "real" location?
Relax Brother (he.. He .. he ..), this phrase does not in the usual location. After a little searching (from forum to forum) ... the fact is ... the location of the phrase "designed by Joomlart.com" we can find in the folder / file:
template> ja_ (name_of_the_template)> HTML> mod_footer> default.php
Finally, after we find the "real" its location, edit "default.php" file with the text editor we favored :p . Now it's up to you whether it replaced (for example: "Managed by ..."," Powered by ... ") or just deleted.

Want to know HOW TO REMOVE YOUJOOMLA.COM Copyright from Joomla 1.5 template footer?
PLEASE COMMENT, AND LET ME KNOW IF IT STILL WORKING OR NOT FOR THE NEW TEMPLATES.
UPDATE:
Well, seem JoomlArt have moved "default.php" file to somewhere else folder in their new templates.
If the above tips doesn't work, please read my other post or article at this link:

ReplyDelete@Alwin: You're welcome. Glad to help you all.
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteThanks for that. It still works fine thanks on JA Vauxrite
@Alex: You are welcome. So, Joomlart Team don't change it (yet), like other did.
ReplyDeleteToday 2/20/10, to remove copy still works, but I have more thing to ask you guys. To the left of the copyright / powered by JOOMLART.com, there is a JOOMLA logo. I found the folder in the theme. Let say Mesolite(red), in the red folder, I found images, and replaced with a plain images, it still didn't work.
ReplyDeleteAnyone got any idea?
Thank you guys,
Fook!
guys, I took it back what i posted early. It works. Just look for images in the image folder and replace it with your own.
ReplyDeleteIn JAW061 (name of the template) folder there's no mod_footer. I do have com_content, mod_mainmenu, mod_syndicate, index.html, module.css and module.php. But no mod_footer. Where is it?
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI am using the template Joomlart ja erica style 1, and at the top of the header area there is an image that reads "Not a member yet? Sign up now" and when you click on this image, it brings you to the Joomlart website sign up page.
I would like to change that Joomlart link to my register or membership sign up page. How do I do that? First, I dont know where to find that file to make the changes, and second, I dont know how to edit the file once I fine it? I fear messing up the template because I am not familiar with editing html, php, or a css file. But I do so desperately need to edit this image and change it to my url. Can some one tell me how to make these changes?
I thank you in advance for your time!
@ancafa and Anonymous: What Joomla version did you used? Joomla 1.0.x or 1.5.x? Different version need different way and different file(s) to edited. I have a little familiar with Joomla 1.0.x than Joomla 1.5.x, but thanks for your comments, I try to help but I can't promise you all.
ReplyDelete@ancafa: Did you used JA Wezen template for Joomla 1.0.x? If it's not JA Wezen, where did you get this template? because I only found JA Wezen in Joomlart Site.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous: In the template for Joomla 1.5.x, there is an image with word "Member Area" and it link to our register or membership sign up page. So I assume you used the template for Joomla 1.0.x. Correct me if I'm wrong.
@Anonymous who used JA ERICA:
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed "the sign up" one. :(
I assumed you use "Quickstart".
TRY THIS (ALL I KNOW):
From Joomla Backend go to: Content > Article Manager.
Open these articles (under Newsflashes Section and Newsflash Category):
1. Easy customization
2. Pro Design
3. Current Status
After you opened these, you can find text: "Sign up now!" that linked to joomlart signup page.
Now you can change the text and link as you prever.
For "Not a member? Sign Up NOW!" image, you can replace the image "big-readon.png" in : templates/"name_of_the_template"/images" folder with yours (don't change the imange name).
Hope this help you.
It fooled me, somehow, before I know the solve. ;)
@ANCAFA:
ReplyDeleteIf you used JA Wezen for Joomla 1.0.x :
Just open footer.php file in the template folder (with wordpad or your text editor). In that file you can find "Copyright" and "Designed by" text, and of course the link to Joomlart site.
Hope this is what you need.

ReplyDeleteANSWER: First, thanks for your help! I am using Joomla 1.5.15
WOW! A Big Thank You to: Just Sharing for all your HELP! I followed your instructions and it solved my problem! Now the "Not a member? Sign Up NOW!" now links to my SIGN-UP MEMBERSHIP PAGE!

Dear Sr,

can i use this trick to any joomla 2.5 template?
ReplyDeleteHello. I am using JA Teline IV template, and refreshed to actual JA T3 framework (2.6.8). I'd like to remove from footer "Designed by Joomlart.com" but I have no idea, where can I find that "default.php" file: at first, finding at joomla_root_folder/templates/ja_teline_iv/html/, no matches, of course not; that was the old solution. So, look at the actual location at joomla_root_folder/plugins/system/jat3/jat3/base-themes/default/html/mod_footer/default.php: it seems to be OK, here I found the right one, edited, but nothing happened, everything's the same at my frontpage with the old ones. Where can I find the working JA T3 plugin folder and the working default.php file? Or what can I do for success? Thank you very much, d.
ReplyDeleteHey! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could get a
ReplyDeletecaptcha plugin for my comment form? I'm using the same blog platform as yours and I'm having trouble
finding one? Thanks a lot!
